The soft outer wall.
Just above each nostril, where your nose flares. It is skin and cartilage, so it flexes. This is the narrowest point of the whole airway. Pull air in hard and it can fold inward and shut.
Take one photo. We mark the spot on your own nose, and show you which part of it a strip holds open.
Both nostrils, seen from below. A strip is a spring. It pulls the soft outer wall of each side outward and holds it there. The wall between your two sides does not move.
Dashed line is beforeThat soft outer wall is the narrowest part of your whole airway. When you pull air in hard, it can flex inward and close. A strip stops that.
See where a strip would sit on your own nose, and how your two sides compare.
StartGet the exact spot marked on your own nose, so it does not lift in the night.
StartYour photo is read on your own phone and never leaves it. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and no account is needed. This shows you where a strip goes. It does not measure how well one will work for you.
Air passes three tight spots on the way to your lungs. Knowing which one is yours changes what actually helps.

There are shelves of tissue lining each side. They swell and shrink all day. Dust, smoke, pollen, cold air and lying down all make them swell.
03
The divider between your two sides. If it leans, one side stays narrower for life. Only a doctor can tell you for sure.
A nasal strip works on the first one only. It holds the soft wall open so it cannot collapse when you breathe in. That is where the 21 percent airflow figure comes from.
It does nothing for swollen ridges and nothing for a leaning wall. So if your nose is blocked because you have a cold, a strip will not clear it. Be honest with yourself about which of the three is yours. That one answer saves most people a lot of money.
Your nose takes turns. Every few hours one side swells a little and the other opens up. This is normal, it happens to everyone, and most people never notice it until they lie down and one side goes quiet.
So if the analysis shows your two sides are not equal, do not read too much into it. Run it again a few hours later and see if the gap moves to the other side. If it moves, that is your nose doing its normal thing. If the same side is narrower every single time, that is more likely to be structural, and a doctor can tell you in one visit.
Ranked by how much it moves the needle, which is why our product is not at number one.
Bring the swelling down first. This is where most blocked noses come from, and nothing else works until it is handled. A saline rinse before bed. Washed pillow covers. No fan blowing straight at your face all night. If it turns out to be allergies, a doctor sorts it in one visit.
Stop the soft wall from collapsing. This is the strip's job, and the nasal dilator's job. The dilator uses external magnetic tabs and a magnetic band that clips on over them. Nothing goes inside your nose.
Keep the nose in use.If your mouth falls open in your sleep, air takes the easy route and your nose does nothing all night. Mouth tape closes that shortcut.
Change how you lie.Flat on your back pools blood in the lining of your nose and lets your tongue fall back. Your side, with your head slightly raised, is easier on both.
Fix what is structural.A leaning wall or growths inside are real, common, and fixable. No product on this page touches them. A doctor is the only route.
Up on the bony part of the bridge. Bone does not move, so the strip has nothing to pull. It has to sit on the soft part just below the bone, across the widest part of the flare.
Straight after a face wash, or after moisturiser, or on a sweaty night. The ends lift by 2am. Wash, dry properly, then place it.
That is what leaves red marks and sore skin, and it is why people quit. Wet it first, then peel it slowly from the ends toward the middle.
A nasal strip does not cure snoring. It does not treat sleep apnea. It holds one part of your nose open, and that is the whole of it.
If you stop breathing in your sleep, wake up gasping, or your partner has noticed long silent pauses, please see a doctor. Those are worth a proper look, and no product on this site is a substitute for one.
